Since the government mandated the temporary shutdown of Boracay on April 26, tourists around the world have missed the go-to vacation hotspot in the Philippines for its powdery white-sand beaches. The country's other beautiful beaches have been filling the void, but Boracay fans have something to look forward to: the Department of Tourism has announced plans for a "soft opening" on October 26. The new policy effective April 15 “aims to promote tourism and investments from these countries,” the Department of Foreign Affairs statement read.The announcement brings to 157 the total number of countries whose citizens enjoy visa-free privileges in the Philippines. Somalia has been removed from the list. Aside from the DFA, the Justice and Tourism departments, as well as the National Bureau of Investigation and other security agencies worked on the list of new visa-free countries.

February 6, 2012 marks a very traumatic incident all over visayas, most specifically the most affected areas of negros oriental and cebu city where a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit the place, Bohol were also affected wherein countless aftershocks were being felt.  Who would have thought that lives would be torn apart at that single instant. While blogging this, the death toll has reach to 15 people who have been declared dead and 50 people were still missing. There were also threats of tsunami but just so thankful it didnt happen. Most dreadful thing was, children were left traumatized with the whole situation,  keep on crying on the scene that they have just witnessed and experienced.  With all these happening, i hope that we would all be vigilant and we start to care with our mother earth. That this would serve as a lesson learned for us, that in encountering situation like this we should all be prepared and ask God always for His guidance all the time. Prayers is...

For the whole month of july, its gonna be a full packed of festivities since its a yearly celebration that the people of Bohol is looking forward to. ITS THE SANDUGO FESTIVAL otherwise known as the Blood Compact Commemmoration, a celebration of culture and history. People are gathered together from all walks of life to witness the event. Apart from the streetdancing, they are also showcasing various products that comes from indigenous materials, which in turn has made a very big impact to it.  There is also the much awaited, Miss Sandugo, this year's winner is Farrah Faye Mian from Tubigon, Bohol.  This is the second time that the town of Tubigon has bagged its coveted title.  The Sandugo Festival is proof of the greatness that springs from unity, when different regions, local government and the private sector, cultural advocates and philanthropists come together. One blood, one culture. Way to go BOHOL!
